Arsenic, one of the most abundant elements in the earth's crust, is both toxic and carcinogenic. Arsenic removal systems remove arsenic by absorbing it in an iron-impregnated resin filter medium. Thanks to the arsenic filter, the arsenic value in water can be reduced to 10 mg/lt, which is the upper limit recommended by the World Health Organization. Arsenic filters are designed taking into account the arsenic content in the water and some other variables. It is available in different capacities and materials according to the place of use and need. They are inlet and outlet water treatment systems that do not require backwashing but must be monitored to determine when the system has reached capacity. When arsenic is "breakthrough", the media cannot absorb arsenic and must be replaced. Arsenic removal systems can be a single tank or a tandem system. When a tank is full in the tandem system, the second tank is automatically activated. Having a second tank gives the user the comfort of knowing that the system will continue to run even if one tank is full.
Arsenic removal systems should be serviced annually and contaminated filter media should be disposed of properly.
